Organic vs. GrassFed
When you choose GrassFed, you choose excellence. Besides the superior taste, you will be getting a number of health benefits as well:
One of the best things to prevent cancer, obesity, heart disease, “bad” cholesterol, adult onset diabetes and a host of other issues is Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA). This comes from the grass, and is virtually non-existent in feed-lot cattle.
We need Omega 6, no doubt. But, one of the major health problems in America today is that we are getting too much. About 15-20 times too much!
Conversely Omega 3 is another fatty acid, but this one is the holy grail, it seems like it is getting harder and harder to find. This is because we are processing ourselves out of it in the name of price and convenience.
Omega 3 to Omega 6 Ratio
As you can see, if we are getting 15-20 times too much of one, and not enough of another. You're going to have problems. To be healthy, you need to maintain a 3:1 balance. So the answer is to bring one up, or bring the other down...or BOTH!! Conventional Beef offers about a 17:1 Ratio, which is consistent with your average American. When you switch over to GrassFed Beef, you will be cutting out all of the excess Omega-6 and bringing it back into a proper ratio. GrassFed Beef provides the proper balance of 3:1 that everyone is looking for, it is good for you. If you are on a restricted diet, please go ask your Doctor about the benefits of GrassFed Beef, we'll be looking forward to talking with you shortly afterward!
If you are new to the term "Grass Fed" you are not alone. Conventional beef growers with industrial size farms have taken over the supply of meat in our country and most people don't think about or realize what they eating.
"WE EAT - what they eat!"
Eating Organic is not going far enough! It's all well and good that the cattle are being fed organic feed/grain but they are EATING FEED! That is not what cattle (ruminants) are supposed to eat. Cattle feed, even grown organically, is not healthy for them and in turn NOT HEALTHY for you!
Our GrassFed cattle are fed grass during the growing seasons and baleage in the winter.
This is truly how nature intended!
No grains! EVER!
"When animals are 100% grass-fed, their meat is not only lower in saturated fats but also slightly higher in omega-3 fatty acids, the healthy fats found in salmon and flaxseed, which studies indicate may help prevent heart disease and bolster the immune system. Ground beef and milk from grass-finished cattle also have more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which recent data suggest may help prevent breast cancer, diabetes and other ailments. Moreover, grass-finished meat is higher than grain-finished meat in vitamin A and vitamin E, two antioxidants thought to boost resistance to disease. "Grass-fed meat is beef with benefits,"
